📜 In medieval Bosnian documents, Blagaj is mentioned in charters of Bosnian kings and Roman sources on March 1, 1423.
According to a folk legend, a group of dervishes missionaries arrived and paused near the village of Kamena, observing a landscape full of nakedness and brass. Upon reaching the ancient town of Blagaj, within the fortress, they were presented with a breathtaking panorama of Bišće Polje, the meandering Buna River leading to the Neretva, and people from nearby mountains herding livestock to the water streams.
🏺 At that moment, they exclaimed that everything they had witnessed along their journey was like rocky land, except for this place, which they deemed as a treasure, a treasure-filled oasis.
